vivo S1 Summary
The S1 is the first Vivo smartphone to be released in India under the S series. There is no disputing that the S1 looks fashionable. The S series is focused on style. It is available in the colors Skyline Blue and Diamond Black. We got the Black Diamond variation, which had a captivating diamond design on the back.
The S1's 6.38-inch AMOLED display comes from Vivo. When used outside, it offers a sufficient light level and acceptable viewing angles. It also has a fingerprint scanner built right into the display. The selfie camera is located in a waterdrop notch on the Vivo S1.
A 16-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor make up the S1's triple camera arrangement on the rear. The S1 has a Micro-USB connector, although the majority of other smartphones in this price bracket have Type-C connections, which left us unimpressed.
Vivo includes FunTouch OS on top of Android 9 Pie with the S1 out of the box. It features customizations and some pre-installed programs. The Vivo S1 is the first smartphone in India to include a MediaTek Helio P65 SoC. The Vivo S1 comes in three different configurations: 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage, and 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
When used regularly, the top-end version we obtained for evaluation had no problems. We utilized the S1's medium settings while playing games like PUBG Mobile. After playing for 20 minutes, the phone did feel warm to the touch. The S1 still needs improvement in the camera department because we weren't satisfied with its performance. While working rather well in bright light, it performs poorly in dim light. A respectable battery life is provided by the 4,500mAh battery, and Vivo includes an 18W fast charger in the package. In comparison to some of its rivals, such as the Realme X and the Oppo K3, the Vivo S1 does seem expensive.
